Sarvesh Goel Champions Youth Talent at National Taekwondo Championship

In a powerful display of discipline, strength, and youth excellence, the 39th Open National Taekwondo Championship kicked off with energetic fervor. Among the esteemed guests present to inaugurate the prestigious event was Sarvesh Goel, a prominent entrepreneur, educationist, and social leader from Lucknow, who has long been a patron of sports, youth development, and fitness initiatives in India.

Held under the supervision of K.D. Singh and supported by the Taekwondo Academy of India, the championship saw participants from various states fiercely compete in different categories. Uttar Pradesh made a striking impression on the opening day, bagging 15 gold medals—an impressive feat that highlighted the growing martial arts talent in the region.

Athletes like Yatarnan (57 kg), Harsh Singh (45 kg), Yash Narayan (53 kg), and Ayushi Patel and Eshani Jayaswal (Under 14) delivered standout performances that not only brought medals but also pride to their state. Their triumphs were a testament to the discipline and dedication that Taekwondo instills in young individuals.

Known for organizing health and fitness events like the Lucknow Run and promoting world-class facilities through ventures like The Centrum, Mr. Goel is a firm believer in nurturing holistic growth—both in mind and body.

Also present were other dignitaries including Pawan Singh Chauhan, Sudhir Halwasia, Ashok Bhargav, and Maher Mohan Jayaswal, who collectively supported this national initiative. Their attendance added inspiration for the young martial artists competing with fervor and focus.

Grandmaster Jimmy R. Jagtiani, credited as the father of Taekwondo in India, remarked that Uttar Pradesh’s dominance, winning 15 golds, was an indication of the state’s growing capabilities in martial arts. Assam followed with four golds, while Punjab and West Bengal claimed two each.

By participating in and encouraging such national-level platforms, Sarvesh Goel continues to reinforce the belief that sports are a vital foundation for nation-building. His leadership, both in education and community development, ensures that platforms for young talent to rise and shine continue to grow across India.
